To Shop
In trying economic times, people sometimes make mistakes. I have an innate fear of mob mentality and the Walmart trampling just reinforces it. It is not the first time this has happened.
More people are starting to think like home is the place to shop from with some degree of safety. I am doing more online shopping and this is one of my favorite birding guide stores to visit. I like to support small business and this birding guides place has a lot more than bird supplies available.
To Learn
Libraries and bookstores are my great places to browse. And I spend a lot of time reading and researching online now it is much faster and safer Right now I am researching home based businesses and thinking about starting one. Looking over home based business review sites I am learning what to trust and what to skim over.
To Explore
My hobby of outdoor exploring has taken me to many extraordinary places. Though the seasons have their effects on me also and sometimes I have to explore from indoors and read about the adventures of other people.
I often seek times to take my bird book and favorite bird binoculars and take a short walk to explore. Simple everyday people were responsble for many observations about birds and wildlife which helped scientists learn about the state of the environment. One example was Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring which prompted the removal of DDT from being the primary pesticide because it was killing birds.Rachel Carson’s work and her scientific background was all she needed for credibility and she was a catalyst for major environmental movements in America in the 1970’s.
