Choosing the perfect vacation getaway is tough.  Practically, in a modern frantic paced lifestyle you are competing against all of the obligations and time pressures you face in your daily life.  Sometimes it is relaxing to obtain a new perspective on destination ideas that you might not have considered before.  A North Dakota vacation gives you an occasion to find something that you may not be able to find in your own backyard.

If you are seeking romance or relaxation on your vacation escape, you will enjoy it much more if you take a little time to plan part of your excursion in advance.  For the outdoor seeking vacationer, consider the weather forecasts of the region that you will be venturing into so that you can bring the appropriate clothing and protection to make your trip comfortable and enjoyable.  There can be significant changes in weather between day and nights.

Perhaps the ultimate state destination is North Dakota, where you will find too much to see and do.  Here are a few of the North Dakota attractions you may desire to see:

Idea #1: Frontier Village and World’s Largest Buffalo Monument - Jamestown, North Dakota. The stage coach ride and the pony rides do have a small fee attached to them. Location: I-94, Exit 258, Jamestown, ND, 58401.

Idea #2:  Writing Rocks State Historic Site - Grenora, North Dakota. Petroglyphs are pictures or patterns that have been chiseled into the rocks by people that have no written language. In 1931 two brothers, Henry and Edgar Syverud, formed the Writing Rock Historical Society, and five years later the Society purchased the site surrounding the two rocks. Today Writing Rocks State Historic Site includes a playground and picnic shelters for visitors to enjoy as they study the rocks for themselves.

Certainly there are a lot of other destinations that you might want to see on your North Dakota vacation.  You might only be staying for a short period of time, but you can appreciate and experience much of the wonderful culture, heritage, and adventure that the state has to offer.  You never will never be ignored  - check out this North Dakota tourism video – there is always something new to see and do.
